Join Us For Our Passata Making Day, And The Launch Of 2 New Sustainable Homes On Sunday 11th March8/2/2018 The Cape team is very excited to invite you to join us from 10 AM until 4 PM on Sunday 11th March 2018 for our Passata Making Day. We will also officially be launching two of Australia’s most innovative and energy efficient new homes, CORE 9 by TS Constructions and Beaumont Concepts, as well as Dune 1 by Adapt Design Group. The Cape community garden is in full swing, and is producing a huge bounty of over five different varieties of organic tomatoes and basil. To celebrate, we invite everyone to join us and enjoy a passata making workshop, live music, free barista made coffee and refreshments. In addition, we will officially be launching two new super sustainable homes on the day, giving you the opportunity to speak with the builders and designers behind them, and find out how they have created homes which achieve optimal energy efficiency and utilise sustainable materials whilst remaining affordable. The homes which will be launched on the day are: CORE 9 – a 9.2 star, beautiful energy efficient home designed by Beaumont Concepts and built by TS Constructions. This home features excellent orientation, insulation, shading, double glazing, thermal mass, cross flow ventilation and non toxic paints and finishes. The home also includes recycled bricks used for reverse brick veneer walls, and has a highly innovative floor plan that eliminates wasted space. The home has a super-efficient fit out including LED lights, Daiken 7 star heating and cooling system, Sanden Heat Pump hot water, induction cooktop, electric green switch to turn off all standby power and electric vehicle charge points, 5.1 kw solar system and battery storage. The home also includes 10,000 litres of rainwater storage for toilet flushing, as well as water efficient tapware and showerheads. The innovative design has been developed to reduce construction waste, maintain very comfortable year-round temperatures with minimal heating and cooling, and reduce energy bills to zero, while producing more energy than it uses. Recent modelling by the Alternative Technology Association indicates this home will be likely to completely eliminate energy bills and generate income for surplus energy produced on an annual basis. The home is connected to a fibre optic NBN system for fast broadband speeds. We congratulate Beaumont Concepts and TS Constructions for their outstanding works in delivering another innovative, super comfortable display home that will set the owner up for great low cost, high quality, sustainable living. Come and meet the builders and designers between 10 AM and 4 PM and see the future of Australian housing. Dune 1 - this home is an 8.7 star energy efficient, beautiful home, designed and built by local design firm Adapt Design Group. The home features all the elements of passive design, including north facing living areas, double glazing, operable windows for cross flow ventilation, burnished concrete slab and internal walls for thermal mass, excellent insulation and shading. This home has been recently road tested through very hot weather and has maintained super comfortable temperatures throughout, without having to turn on the efficient Daiken 7 star split system featured in the home. Dune 1 also features Sanden heat pump hot water, ceiling fans, LED lights, electric vehicle charge points, battery storage and 7.8 kilowatts of power, which should also ensure the home produces significantly more energy than it uses and reduce annual energy bills to below zero. The home also includes 14,000 litres of rainwater storage for toilet flushing, as well as water efficient tapware. Recent modelling by the Alternative Technology Association indicates this home will also be likely to completely eliminate energy bills and generate income for surplus energy produced on an annual basis. Dune 1 is a beautiful home and is the residence of Tad Hendry, who will be there on the day to show people through this home, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Other homes that will be open on the day include Victoria’s first 10 Star home by The Sociable Weaver, and the 8.2 star display home by TS Constructions, in addition to the wonderful community garden. All house designs are fully downloadable from the project website. Stage 1 of the Cape is now approaching a sellout, and Stage 2 is under construction, so use this opportunity to select your future dream home site in Victoria’s best designed housing estate! Stage 2 still has premium home sites with coastal views and overlooking open space and wetlands, which can never be built out. We look forward to seeing you there on the day! Best regards,
